LOG n.6 - What?

Collection of days 6. - 13.10.2025 Marina del Sur, Las Galletas

There was a window of confusion for me where my unintegrated parts decided to play ball with each other and caused a little bit of chaos. I've managed to prolong my stay in the marina for a few days (making it one at a time), because every time I get a set date for departure, something expectedly or unexpectedly tries to hijack that intent. Often very successfully so.

So the days became blurred to each other, and I've lost track of time and space. Recalibrating.

I've also discovered that, same as my grandmamma, I am an obsessive-compulsive cleaner, but just sometimes. Other times, I am an obsessive-compulsive mess-maker. It's good that they balance each other out and keep me busy.

This new beginning can be messy as well. Feelings of finding oneself and getting lost again. It's almost like being lost is my comfort zone. So my mind tries to recreate the mental and physical environment according to that. I don't blame her; I haven't lived much from any other place until now. My mind knows how to get around the feeling of being lost - it has a lot of experience.

Same as my main goal from my childhood was to find myself—not kidding. I couldn't put a finger on who I was (tried to define it by billions of hobbies and not sticking to any of them) so I lived in constant existential crisis since the age of 7. Since that age, I have also found many strategies insufficient for me personally.

But about that, some other time and in some longer article. Losing oneself is a gradual and heavy process, and finding oneself doesn't include the space for comparison.

Anyway, from the topics of the mind into the topics of the matter, I cleaned all my inox (stainless steel) hardware on the deck. When I first came to the island and everybody was talking about "inox" and how it is the best, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of special compound they discovered here to be better than stainless steel. Just 7 months later, I discovered that 'inox' is short for "inoxidable", which is stainless steel. I was laughing for a good 20 minutes.

Anyway, polishing it is a bitch (polishing anything is a bitch), and it will stay clean for 3 days, but it indeed looks better and makes me feel better. The cables in the railing are getting a bit rusty. In time, I'll need to replace the whole standing rigging. Until I have the mONeY for that, I'll hope for the best and tend to it as much as I can, as to everything else.
